If someone had told me that someday
I would be posting a query about
men's socks I would have thought
that person needed to spend a few
months in a mental institution!
I don't know about you guys, but
since my early teens I would grab
five or six pairs of socks (which
might take one or two minutes) off
some department store rack and never
think about "socks" for several
months until I needed a few more
pairs.
The last three or four years socks
have been driving me crazy! Whether
I buy six pairs for $6.00 at Walmart
or $8.00 for one pair in some fancy
little store I cannot find socks that
fit my feet.
My shoe size is eight. The socks
I've been buying usually start at
a men's shoe size of 6½ or 8 and
go all the up to a 12 or 13. The
problem is when I pull the sock over
my foot the heel does not stop where
my heel is! It goes past my heel to
upper part of my Achilles tendon. It
almost seems like if your shoe size
is not 10 or 11 you might as well
start wrapping your feet in old
newspaper because socks are no
longer available for men who wear
a smaller size shoe.
Is there some brand of sock I should
look for that would might a man who
wears a size eight shoe? Maybe there
is a web site for men who are under 6
ft. in stature and would like to buy
buy clothing that actually fits. I
know there are a whole lot of companies
that sell clothing for big and tall
men.
I've been a gymnast, swimmer, and scuba
diver for most of my life. I'm very
well balanced and coordinated. My
smaller size feet were never a problem
until the garment industry decided that
only men with big feet have a right to
wear socks!
