No you wouldn't. Fake products support criminal activity and terrorism.

Non of them.

BS. So does driving SUVs if you take your reasoning to the
ridiculous end. Fake rolexes have been around everywhere forever,
and they are still easy to find. But don't settle for fake. Anyone
who cares can easily tell fake from real based on the movement.
Get yourself a decent, durable watch. |

Knock-off watches don't contribute to terrorism, and actually
such Chicken Little claims trivialize the fight against
terrorism. What next? Speeding and jay walking are crimes,
ergo they cause terrorism.
Go to any swap meet or flea market just about anywhere on the
earth's surface, and you are bound to find a fake rolex for
sale. Maybe all these flea markets need to be bombed in order
to prevent terrorism??? |

The difference is, there's no organized criminal gangs involved with
jaywalking and speeding.

Of course not.

LONDON, Consumers are being warned that the innocent purchases of
counterfeit products from Internet sites and markets are funding terrorist
and criminal organizations, including Al-Qaeda, the Mafia and the IRA. The
sale of these fake goods, ranging from "designer" clothes to power tools
to pharmaceutical products are directly linked to international terrorism
and organized crime, according to Carratu International PLC, a leading
investigator of intellectual property abuse.
.....
Extensive enquiries by Carratu International have unearthed links between
counterfeiting and Al-Qaeda, Hizbollah, the IRA, ETA, the Mafia, Chinese
Triad gangs, the Japanese Yakuza crime syndicate, the Russian Mafia and
drug cartels. Indeed, the recovery of Al-Qaeda training manuals had shown
that the organization recommends the sale of counterfeit products to raise
funds.

Any comments ?

....and...
http://www.carratu.com/Anti_Counterfeiting.htm
---------
In 2000 the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Group (GACG) reported that
counterfeiting of all goods costs UK companies between £4 billion and
£6.6 billion per year, across the EU the figure is between £28 and £40
billion and worldwide, the cost is a staggering $200 to $400 billion per
year.
Unfortunately, it is often treated by both the public and the authorities
as a victimless crime. Nothing could be further from the truth -
Counterfeits are linked to drugs, guns, vice and international terrorism.
It is well reported that the high-level players who controlled a
counterfeit T-shirt ring were using the proceeds to support terrorist
groups such as the one that bombed the World Trade Centre in 1993. There
are numerous other examples of such links.

---------
Terrorism:
.......
It is becoming increasingly obvious that there are criminal organisations,
including terrorists, that use counterfeit goods to finance their
activities.

Give it a rest. Fake watches don't cause terrorism, and
you still have not shown any credible links. By blowing
a crime out of proportion, you harm your own credibility
and distract people away from the direct issues surrounding
the fight against terrorism. What a crock!
