My Simplicity adventure continues apace. The bodice is now complete,
made from a red wedding sari with masses of gold bullion threadwork in
it! Some tough sewing there...

Now I need to get back to the skirt and complete that... Then it's on
to the partlet and ruffs! Smile

I need to fit in some pay jobs too, somewhere, but this week this is
eating at me!

my daughter made this one, and said that it seemed to be larger in the
making than the pattern dictated. (luckily, the one she made it for was
just across town, and could come over for fittings without too much
problem.) i'm looking at it as a possibility, but haven't worked out the
time factor. life has screeched to a halt while we work on my eldest
daughter's house. the sewing, alas, must also wait. luckily, we have a
wonderful outfit from kate the wondrous to help with this season. no, i
haven't forgotten you, nor the wonderful favor. i only hope to emerge from
this house remodelling with some semblance of sanity...

off to make curtains for the boys' rooms....

Did you get a busk to fit that corset? If not, I can send you the one
Alan made for it. If I remake that corset pattern, as an effigy style
corset, I'll need a longer one anyway. It won't fit the Margo pattern
one either, so you might as well get some use out of it!

i haven't even tried to find/make a busk, yet. if you are willing to part
with it, it would be put to use! if not, i will prevail on the hubby and
his woodshop to make something. and if you want a "fancy busk", let me
know. i have one daughter who is extremely skilled in pyrrography. she
offered to burn celtic knotwork into anything that hubby eventually cranked
out. i know she'd do the same for you! (she burned elvish leafwork into an
oak bookcase for her hubby for christmas..my hubby made the bookcase) we
could do an exchange--let me know dimensions you need, and i'll get the
fires burning, here, so to speak...

admom, etc.

Very much appreciated. The funeral went as well as these things can
go... There was a friend of hers there who had started school with her,
70 years ago! Oh, the joys of living in one place all your life!
